Are your solar panels working to capacity?

Are your solar panels working to capacity?

If you think you're not getting enough out of your solar panels, it's probably because they are in need of a good clean.  They should be regularly washed to get the best charge possible.

For the best results and to ensure you don't scratch your solar panels in any way, simply use water and a soft non-abrasive sponge or cloth to clean away dirt and debris. Don't use anything sharp or hard that could scratch or damage your panels. Dry with a squeegee or chamois, like you would with glass windows or when washing your car.

If you need to use soap, don't use anything stronger or harsher than the detergent you would use to wash your dishes. Environmentally friendly and chemical-free soaps are best to use, as they won't harm any plants or animals from splashing or the run-off, and they also won't leave a nasty residue that could mark your panels.

You can also make your own cleaning solution with a combination of dish-soap and water or one part vinegar to eight parts water.
